Jeff Hayes Bio

Originally from Greenville, SC, Jeff fell in love with music at the young age of 8 years old. He was mesmerized by the radio. He listened daily not only to hear the music but also to hear the DJs.

When Jeff turned 10, he discovered an old retro toy: a Mr. Microphone. Once Jeff used the Mr. Microphone and heard himself on the radio speakers, in his words: “It was on!” Jeff’s DJ dreams took off. From the money he earned cutting grass during the summers, Jeff diligently saved enough to buy something
that had become very important to him: sound equipment.
By the age of 12, he had assembled a radio station in his
bedroom. With the help of one of his father’s friends and
a “powered-up” Mr. Microphone, Jeff actually had a
functioning FM radio station. The station broadcast on
107.7 FM under the call letters WBKY (B107). About 10
homes in his neighborhood could receive the signal from
Jeff’s underground priate radio station.

Jeff admittedly say's "I had no normal childhood, I missed
out on a lot of kid things. In fact, even today I still have
never even seen the Yellow Brick Road movie..."

As the years went by, Jeff continued to grow his skills as a DJ. By age 15, he was the DJ at a local skating rink called
Skateland USA. He recalls DJing to crowds of up to 750 on a Saturday night. At age 18, Jeff entered into a full-time radio career that would continue for over 12 years. During these years, Jeff got his first big break on an AM station called WQOK, he then went on to work on air at some powerful Upstate FM stations like; 107 WANS, (now 107.3 Jamz), MY 102.5 and 93.3 WBBO. He even worked one shift for Whistle 100 (WSSL) but said "No" to country music, it was just not his thing. Jeff had great success with his radio career. Over the years he progressed from announcer to music director then on to assisting with programming, promotions and operational duties.

Jeff even today still programs 107 WANS as an Internet 80's station and can be heard simply by
logging onto the website at 107WANS.com or through iTunes radio, it still sounds just like it
did in the 80's. You can also click on the logo to the right and go directly to the website and the
stream with automatically play.

On air Jeff was known as Jammin’ Jeff as well as Jeff Hayes. Two of Jeff’s most popular radio programs were the Saturday Night Hotmix at WANS and Jammin’ Jeff and the Funky Bunch at WBBO.

It was during his time at WBBO that Jeff decided to leave his radio career and begin a mobile entertainment company. The Party Machine was birth in the summer of 1993 with it's first event (Kravet Fabrics) on December 4, 1993. Jeff’s original intent for the company was to perform at Christmas parties and High School proms. However, a few months into his new venture, Jeff began to get calls from brides asking to reserve The Party Machine to provide their wedding reception entertainment.

The requests made Jeff both excited and nervous. He knew that the entertainment for a wedding
reception was not something to be taken lightly. So Jeff set out to get the best information he could
on wedding reception entertainment. He started by contacting the American Disc Jockey
Association. He was given the names of some established and successful wedding entertainment
companies. Jeff contacted the company that impressed him the most and made a deal with the
company to pay for their program. This wise move took The Party Machine from no wedding
experience to 20 years’ worth of wedding information and knowledge in just 90 days.

To date, The Party Machine since 1993 has performed at more than 5,000 events and entertained
over ONE MILLION PEOPLE. In addition to The Party Machine entertaining in the upstate of SC, the
company has traveled to Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, New York and Pennsylvania.
The Party Machine has recently opened up services in the Charleston, SC area and is beginning to
offer regular service in Charleson.

Jeff is married to wife Cindy, he says she is... "My Wife, My Best Friend, My Soul Mate, My Business Partner and My Biggest Cheerleader..." He and Cindy own The Party Machine and live in Simpsonville and together they have 5 wonderful boys, one of which (Jody Hayes) MC's with The Party Machine and is a great entertainer.

When Jeff is asked, "What is one thing people might be surprised to know about you?," his answer along with a laugh is, "my real name is actually Joe, my on air name was changed to Jeff years ago and The Party Machine began with everyone knowing me as Jeff..."

Jeff has pretty much made his life making others laugh, helping their dreams come true and special days be the absolute best that they can be. He constantly tells his staff..., "when it comes to events with The Party Machine, there are no second chances, so let's get it right the first time." He is very passionate about what he and The Party Machine do, so, careful if you get into a conversation with him, it might be a long one.

Jeff's Favorite
Party Moment

"...other than lining people up and performing Hey Baby, Soul Train etc.., I'd say standing behind the equipment during dinner thinking how nice these people look, knowing by the end of the event their gonna leave with the hair all messed up, worn out, tie over their shoulders..." LOL
